2010 Hyundai ix Metro

The Metro-ix undoubtedly foreshadows a future competitor Qazana, all urban way of Nissan. It is distinguished by its hybrid emitting just 80 g CO2 per km.

Hyundai executives make no secret: the success of the Nissan Qashqai was impressing. The new ix35 appears also in part as a competitor of the latter.

The ix-Metro prefigures, a competitor of the future Qazana that Nissan plans to launch soon. It is therefore a little while path along 3.96 m of the size of a Hyundai I20. It is shorter than 10 cm than the Nissan. However, its height (1.57 m) and width (1.76 m) are almost identical.

Stylistically, the Hyundai adopts taut lines, a little less grotesque than the Nissan. Note that the vehicle features nearly minivan volumes and goes up to the middle.

The ix-Metro handsel an engine which is found perhaps in series. This is a hybrid system based on a three cylinder 1.0 petrol particularly evolved. This turbocharged 4-valves per cylinder and direct injection has also continuously variable timing on intake and exhaust which enables it to deliver the amazing power of 127 hp. It is accompanied if necessary by the starter generator of 5 kW. Finally, the transmission is assigned to a six-speed dual clutch.

In the hierarchy of the hybrid concept, it is therefore between a vehicle stop-start and the Honda Insight. CO2 emissions announced by Hyundai therefore appear surprising. The Metro-ix deliver 80 grams of CO2 per km is less than a Toyota Prius. This score is probably much to reduce vehicle weight: 950 kg.
